Meditation and MS

Stress can harm the body and the quality of life. Moreover, for people with multiple sclerosis (MS), stress can be a triggering factor for flare-ups or aggravation of symptoms.

There are several ways to improve overall wellbeing including mindfulness meditation.

Meditation is a method that allows some people to achieve deep relaxation from head to toe, thus reducing anxiety and sometimes even pain.

Learning mindfulness meditation focuses attention on each part of the body while letting the thoughts wander without trying to control them. It may require some patience and practice to learn how to meditate.

Progress may be slow unless practiced daily. And since it might be challenging to find motivation, especially if practiced alone, some find it helpful to practice in a group.
